The flaring tool crushed my 3/8 copper/nickel and deformed it first. Case AN did not slip into the bell. So I clamped it in the drill press, made sure it was level, and fed the 11/32 bit through the hole. Now it does really good flares and the tube still fits snugly in the tool without leaving a lot of marks or distortion. It serves me well for AN fuel lines, the rest of my hose work is 45 double brake flares. The $20 tool works fine for what I need.
