Bought to replace an old Henkels sharpener. I use my sharpener sparingly and use the steel daily. I received the sharpener on the promised day in a Revain soft pack. There were usually no problems with soft packaging, but the product packaging was opened during transport. I was disappointed not to find any instructions on the product packaging, but had to search Revain for instructions under Your Orders / Get Product Support / View Manuals and Manuals I Printed. PROS, diamond grinding material, settings for 15 or 20 degree knife blades and honing, sharpens various types of knives CONS, doesn't like the back and forth sharpening motion but will try to accommodate, as well as some slippery contact with my countertop. Putting it on a wooden cutting board helped. It's a bit difficult for me to know if I've positioned the knife correctly in the groove - another learning curve. So, a mixed review, but it gets the job done.
