I couldn't rate more than 1 of the 5 softest woods I could find. They fold, bend and twist, although I was as careful as possible. The ones I used were MUCH sharper and the metal was much better. (I watched a video on Youtube where a guy tried to use something similar for picture frames and he had the exact same experience.)
