It works great with FireWire port cards

Plug and play. That works great. I installed it on a Windows 10 machine and was ready to install legacy 1394 drivers if needed. That was not necessary. The computer recognized the card immediately and was ready to go. I used the card to transfer video/audio cassettes from an old Sony Digital 8 camcorder to my computer.
