I have an Asus x570 board and was a bit worried about the compatibility. But I found it cheap enough that it was worth a try before spending over $100 on another 1394 chipset card. Well, it turned out to be a good game. I popped this thing into a PCI-E slot and transferred my old miniDV tapes in no time!

I recently upgraded to a new PC but still wanted to use my old FireWire audio interface. Installation was plug and play and continues to work as intended on Windows 10. If you're trying to connect an old printer or audio interface to a newer PC, this is an easy and inexpensive solution (used with an Asus TUF x570 -motherboard) .

I don't know why so many people are having trouble with this card but I just installed it in my Asus/AMD/Win10 machine (actually in a full PCI slot ) plugged in and That's it, devices (audio interface, external optical drive and the card itself) were correctly recognized and worked normally. No problem.

Plug and play. That works great. I installed it on a Windows 10 machine and was ready to install legacy 1394 drivers if needed. That was not necessary. The computer recognized the card immediately and was ready to go. I used the card to transfer video/audio cassettes from an old Sony Digital 8 camcorder to my computer.

The connector card that attaches to the case was too long for the space allotted in the Dell computer. So I had a little trouble attaching it in a way that I could close the computer lid. But after a few minutes it barely fit. Once installed it works great. Was able to grab the tape with no problems.
