I bought these to power my YI camera which is mounted at the back of my house. I thought this would be a great solution as the cord is long enough to reach an outlet and I installed a deep cover to protect the PSU. Once I set it up and routed the cable, everything worked perfectly. About a week later I noticed that my camera wasn't working one night. It was late so I didn't investigate and the next morning it was back online so I figured it was just a bug. Some time later I noticed that it turned itself off at night only to fix itself again the next morning. At some point I realized that the camera turns itself off EVERY night after dark and recovers EVERY morning. I thought I had issues with the camera so I swapped it out for a different one. To my surprise, the new camera started shutting down every night and the camera I replaced was now working fine. It turned out that the wire in this cable is thick enough to provide suitable power to the camera during the day. At night, the IR LEDs turn on for night vision. When the LEDs light up, the camera draws significantly more current, resulting in a higher voltage drop across this exceptionally long cable. The voltage to the camera is high enough to record but not high enough to support WiFi, so it loses connection until the LEDs go out in the morning. Replacing this cord with a factory one and an extension cord solved all my problems. My cables seemed well made and they are probably adequate to power a very low power device, but not a YI camera with IR illumination.
