Using washers on a 6" CG baseplate that do not completely cover the baseplate. Some other brands are just over 6 inches, so they completely cover the baseplate. In addition, they must not get wet. The adhesive on the back of the Velcro comes off when you get wet (e.g. wash the pad). However, if you only use it once, it costs about $3 for a pad versus $10-$15 for a well-known brand.
