Approximately 6 months have passed. I have a 1050 Ti graphics card and 2 new Asus monitors (1920x1200). When I first got this splitter it didn't work until I unplugged it and plugged it back in, but I thought maybe it was just loose. I can't remember now if it was weeks or even a few months before it accidentally stopped working for the first time - unplugging and plugging it back in worked again. But since then it's been happening more and more frequently and even after reconnecting it becomes less reliable. For example, it doesn't always work on the first try. Sometimes you have to play around with it for more than 5 minutes. And then sometimes it happens again in less than a minute. Very annoying. The only reason I'm giving it 2 runs instead of 1 is that maybe there's something else wrong with my computer - although my graphics drivers are up to date and plugging each monitor directly never causes problems. The only problem is that my graphics card only has 1 display port.
