I'm not a big cyclist but I've been riding longer lately (about 20 miles once a week or so) and thought it might be worth investing in some clip for the pedals After reading about the two main types of contactless systems, I've decided that SPD-style pedals fit my bill and budget better, and I'm willing to stay within $100 with shoes. Installation was easy, having bought an extra wrench to remove my unexpectedly heavy old regular square pedals, and these Venzo branded pedals snapped into place. I had no trouble tightening the clamping mechanism after three straight rides. While I've previously had a screw out of my shoe which caused the shoe to get stuck in the pedal - I completely released the tension to pull the shoe out, but the small piece of metal that the tension screw threads into makes it quite difficult to get it back into its original position return if she falls out. The included cleats match the shoes I bought well and apart from a few embarrassing falls and general awkwardness putting on and taking off the pedals I've had no problems with these pedals. . If you're a beginner like me and looking for a cheap clipless pedal system, these are the ones for you. I've also done a few shorter rides in regular non-cleated shoes and they're perfectly acceptable.
