While I think these cushions deserve their overall high marks, I think it's wise to point out that they're not the solution to all your headphone comfort woes. The "hybrid" design doesn't dampen bass and treble as much as velor, you'll likely notice a bit of a dull sound if you use them instead of leather. This can be compensated for with the equalizer above, but this is a very quick process and may not work in all applications. (This probably won't be a problem if you replace the velor pads.) Second, these pads are much thicker than many popular headphones, including Brainwavz's own HM5 headphones. Of course, this can result in a quieter and more distant sound than whatever pads you replace. (It seems like it'll also improve the soundstage of your headphones, though, so it's not an outright loss.) All in all, these are still fantastically comfortable, fairly well-made earpads that can compensate for imperfections in the leather. Leatherette (congestion, ringing/reverberation of recorded sound, wrinkling/deformation over time) while isolating you from the outside world. Be careful when installing, the rubber retaining ring stretches very easily and may become too loose to work properly if you use too much force.
