I was almost disappointed when I bought this because now I realize how much earlier in my life I should have made buying a good stereo a priority. I never realized how much music there is in the music I've heard until now. One of the problems we face in the current state of retail stores is that there are either no more listening rooms for devices or the options are limited to a big box. only brands like Polk, Klipsch, Bose, Pioneer, Sony etc. At least that's how it was for me. I had to spend a month waiting in local music stores to find demos of what I wanted to hear. Looks like the barrier to entry for speakers is now more research based and less money to spend than I could. I haven't even discovered brands like HSU, SVS and Bic without searching the internet for a week or two for audiophile circles. When it came down to it, I was torn between Bic, HSU, Chane and SVS. When I first started looking for people complaining about SVS spokespeople, I just couldn't find Anger online. People talk a lot about quality for value for money and a lot about customer service. I don't have the best ear for audiophile reviews so take that with a grain of salt but I can't find any. problems with these speakers. I currently have an SB-2000 subwoofer on order, due to arrive today, but the rest of the setup is a modes 2 DAC for a Behringer A500 amp driving two of these Prime towers; I'll probably get a preamp for a volume switch soon. The bass produced by the towers themselves is powerful, but not enough to make a separate subwoofer unnecessary in a large room. The highs are comfortable and smooth, as even the music I dreaded hearing (god, my ears) was high-pitched and clear. move into our house; This speaker and amp combo easily calls the police if I turn the amp volume above 50%.
