We just got it so it's not installed yet but we put it in to see what it looks like. I was very pleased. We tried both crystals and fake logs, and we liked the fake logs best. Has a great 3D effect. You can't beat the price and the looks of it. I've searched for a long time and every other electric fireplace of this size and shape that I've found has cost around $1,000 or more. We even turned on the heating and I think it will be nice in the winter. Not sure if it will heat up the room but will update the review once it is available and we use it. I videotaped it while it was on the floor (no glass) while we tested the fake logs. UPDATE: February 22, 2016 days ago). We used the fireplace before the stone was installed on top of the fireplace (temporarily set up with just the back wall). Today I turn it on and come back and it's off. I tried turning it back on and it's flashing flames on and off. I bought a warranty so I'll update when I find out what's going on and how to resolve it. Obviously we bought it first to make sure we built the fireplace at its size so I'm disappointed that I'm already having issues with it because it looks so cool when it's on. I even like the heating function because I can stand in front of it to warm up a bit. UPDATE: 4/28/16 The manufacturer of this product is top notch. That should take away the fear of buying. I called them and they sent me a new unit with instructions and a return label. I am thankful that they are more than willing to make their customers happy. It's a win-win situation!
