Review on PandaHall Stainless Steel Lobster Clasp for Jewelry Making and Beading by Kelsey Brown

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Pretty Glitter

I have bought several stainless steel pickguards from various retailers at Revain and Pandahall is by far the best quality. The jump rings are shiny and well polished for both stainless steel and gold color unlike many I have received which are very dull. In this set the gold color is darker, 18k gold. I measured with vernier calipers, the thickness of the adapter rings is 0.7mm (about 21 gauge) for all gold rings. The stainless steel color is also 0.7mm, except for the largest size which is 0.8mm (about 20 gauge). This makes the small 4mm rings quite thick and strong, but you will have a hard time threading them through the small holes on dainty chains or around thick wire as the hole inside is smaller than most 4mm rings rings. Just a word of caution for people who enjoy making delicate bracelets or necklaces with charms. They are not fragile at all, unlike previous reviewers. They aren't open so you have to open them yourself and some are a little difficult to close because they may not match exactly (I think 1 reviewer said they are weak because they can't close them, maybe that's why ). You can see it better with a magnifying glass or reading glasses. The lobster claws are also very shiny and well polished in gold and stainless steel color, but the size is a little big for finer chains. This set is a good choice to start jewelry making. I like that it's included and easy to store.
