Update: This company contacted me and considered providing a protective cover. I like the one I installed in my kitchen. I had to turn it off because the temperature outside was getting warmer and we were starting to warm up. It will definitely keep us warm when temperatures drop again. (first review) No temperature control. Does not come with a remote control. Either you have it on or it's off. The surface is heated without a grid to protect young children from touching it. You can set it high, but the heat will rise, so just heat up the blanket. But it gives off heat well.
