Revainrating 4 out of 5

Better than I expected

I'm not sure I'd recommend this to anyone else at $600, but as an amateur I can definitely say I love it. The only downside (4 stars out of 5) is that the material around the eyes seems to be torn or permanently deformed very easily during shipping or packaging. This does not detract from the functionality of the headset, but for the premium price buyers should expect the highest level of quality control! Also, having to order adapters separately for the main use case seems a bit silly. I would say that these 2 factors are subtracted from my score by half a point each. However, I am very satisfied with the practicality of this solution. I was most concerned about the feedback that the edges were blurry or fuzzy. but this is very minimal and acceptable from what I see in the device. I can get my left eye (my good eye) to see the entire screen, including the bottom right corner, so edge issues aren't a problem for me. I also see that I can contact Goovis to get a special lens for my right eye as I have astigmatism but this seems unnecessary at the moment. So 5/5 for practicality and form factor, but 4/5 for a minor quality control issue, without a proprietary adapter in the box. SHORT UPDATE: The foam appears to have recovered somewhat, so it's deformed rather than torn. This brings my rating up to 4.5/5. The volume control that came with the device reversed/flipped the sound (directly tested several headsets and tested the volume cable on different devices). so the score dropped back to 4/5 for the revised 4/5.
