When the jacket arrived I was disappointed because I expected it to be thicker. But as soon as I started wearing it, I realized that even though it's thin, I feel very warm! It has feathers, a hood, is a little tight in the waist (I'm overweight) and hits to my knees (remember I'm short = 5ft 1in). At work I'm about 6 hours in a fridge with a temperature of 2-8 degrees Celsius, which keeps me warm all the time. Now, with that being said, I'm not sure how that will hold up in freezing temperatures - here in North Carolina, our winter weather isn't like New York or Ohio. So do what you want.
