Review on Apex AD-5131 Multi-Disc DVD Player for Enhanced Entertainment Experience by Tim Rushing

I've had this unit for about 2 years and paid a very low price (<$. new) for it. It had all the features I wanted in a DVD player, multi-format and karaoke (I consider myself a good singer). However, it has proven itself time and time again with: 1. The remote control, while stylish, is rather inconvenient for the user and you need a magnifying glass to read the functions on the remote control. You have to reset the karaoke function every time you want to use this function, again with the remote control, which is cumbersome.3. The block smells, I know it sounds weird but it always gave off an odor that smells like fried electronics, nevertheless the block works fine. I always expected this block to smolder and catch fire, but luckily that wasn't the case.4. To update the firmware you need to know which pirate to buy from, Apex support is nil in this regard. All in all a great device, works as expected and the longevity is to be commended. Don't expect much fun from the remote control!
