Review on πŸ”₯ Berkling BSG 568 Cordless Butane Soldering: Unleash Your Portable Soldering Power by Brian Garrett

It's a well-built multi-purpose tool!

I like the solid construction and the durable yet comfortable materials and finishes. It works well as a soldering iron, heat gun and always ignites a jet of flame. The iron heats up immediately. No more waiting for it to heat up to the right temperature. In addition, the temperature range is wide and infinitely adjustable. The firing order (slide the throttle switch to the right to lock, then lower the firing slide) is a little awkward. The butane dissipates in the time it takes to get from the fuel switch to the ignition switch. Sometimes it's tricky to turn it off because you don't have to disengage the fuel switch from the latch on the right side so it snaps to the left. Also, I had a hard time figuring out how to get into blow dry mode because I couldn't see the conical tip unscrewing from the blow dryer tip. Removing the small conical tip turns it into a heat gun. If you then remove the gun tip, unscrew the shroud at the base, and then reattach the vented shroud and you have a jet flame. The black cap with ventilation at the end snaps in very securely and protects the instrument very well. The lid could be a little shorter to accommodate more tool cases and bags. Overall I am very happy with it and can only recommend it.
