The device works properly. He successfully located the problem with my 12v marine battery which was still under warranty and allowed me to return it to the shop for replacement. Judging by other reviews, time will tell durability. A CAUTION. If you have a completely discharged battery (e.g. no lights in a car etc.) this charger will diagnose the battery as damaged and will not start charging. I had a basic 10 amp charger 30 years ago so once I charged the battery a little it charged it.
