The lids are tricky to get a seal on, but once you do, they are completely leak proof. I wash the glass and the lids in the dishwasher with no issues.However, storing these can be a pain. They say not to stack them, but otherwise they take up a lot of space. I've owned this for only 2 months and have had one chip/break due to stacking for storage purposes. The lip on the glass is definitely what's causing this. My next purchase will just be a glass container without a lip to seal the lids.
