Got it as a gift from my wife. I thought I would never use it BUT by the will of fate I used it almost immediately after receiving it. My son's check engine light came on 3 days before the scheduled inspection. Plugs into the car's computer socket. The connector can only go one way (so foolproof). Never used before, instructions were quick and concise. The code showed that it was an EVAP issue. After finding the code online and seeing possible solutions to his problem, I put his gas cap back on and sealed the loose hose connection to his airbox. The device allowed me to erase the code from the car's computer. After that I had to drive 75 km (the requirements of your cars may differ, usually 50-100 km), the car passed the inspection without any problems. The check engine light has been off for 3 months now. Make sure you follow the device's instructions. If it says the car is on, that means the ignition key needs to be turned forward just before starting, NOT BACK for the auxiliary engine. "Run" means "start the car". The device will let you know if it can't complete the task, then ask appropriate questions and wait 10-20 seconds before trying again. Do not confuse the opening ABS test/requirement with OBD-II. The device is more expensive than comparable models, but you get what you pay for.
