Review on High-Speed Steel (HSS) Planer Blades Set of 3 - Replacement for DEWALT DW7342 DW734 by POWERTEC 12801 by Timothy Gonzalez

This is the second time I have ordered these blades. On my first order I ordered two sets of blades which far exceeded my expectations, in fact they worked better than the Dewalt brand so of course I re-ordered this brand when it came time for new blades but unfortunately they have since the first set did not survive. When I fitted the knives, they cut well at first, but shortly thereafter the planer began to bang as if the knives had become blunt. Now I've planed 1x2 and 1x4 in medium density wood and everything I've explained here happens in minutes. So I changed the blades to use a second cutting edge and use low and imperfect cuts even on wider boards. I wonder if factory quality control is being violated by allowing blades to be shipped that have not been properly sharpened. I will reorder again but am a bit skeptical that I will have to reorder sooner than expected. This last order left me with mixed feelings about this product, costing me time and money.
