Review on Sanitaire Bagged Upright Vacuum Cleaner by Gloria Mesa

Will that hold up over time? I doubt it.

I bought this on February 3rd, 2020 as our family room was just covered with medium pile wall to wall carpet. We clean our family room (below) and have our main living level cleaned by a housekeeper and use the Shark Lift Away for easy cleaning of hard floors and above. My mom used Eureka racks when I was a kid and always said they cleaned the room better than anything she used. I will be the first to admit that this machine actually cleans and cleans carpets as advertised! It is relatively light, has a long cable and is height adjustable. The pouch is easy to change and has allergen filtering options. As others have said if you are looking for a no frills carpet vacuum then this would be perfect. Yesterday, when I used the device for the third time, I tried to turn it on. On the back of the hood (next to the opening handle) there is a small black button that turns it on and off. It looks like the button doesn't connect and doesn't turn on the machine. Both my husband and I have tried several times, tried different outlets, but to no avail. The best we can guess is that the button isn't making contact with the connector under the hood. The machine was not used aggressively and was only used on medium pile carpets for about three weeks. I'd happily say I'll repair it or return it for a replacement, but I think this failure that appeared after just a few uses is a bold statement of build quality. I want to buy a product that I know will last more than a few weeks and will last for several years with proper care. If anyone at Sanitaire is reading this I hope they improve the design of this machine to be of a higher quality if they wish to continue selling it as 'heavy duty' or 'professional'.

Pros
  • Worth the money
Cons
  • It's fine
