Review on Bullz Audio BPS16.25PB PRO Platinum/Blue 25' 16-Gauge Speaker Cable: Superior Sound Quality and Durability by Klassic Duncan

I originally bought this wire based on reviews and color. On a positive note, the paint works well in my application (painting it over a carpet of similar colors). And it works like a wire for a speaker (actually, there aren't that many bugs here). But I have two complaints that will probably put me off buying this wire. My first complaint is that it's not copper wire, at least not the spool I received. I think they call that copper clad aluminum. Nothing in the description tells you this one way or the other. It would be nice if I knew that beforehand. Being aluminum, this wire will not accept solder like pure copper. Sometimes I like to reinforce the connections with solder to increase reliability. Through trial (and error) I learned about the aluminum/soldering problem first hand. My second complaint has to do with the thickness of the wire. It's definitely NOT 16 gauge. I've compared it to a range of other wires in 16 and 18 gauge. This wire is more like 18 gauge at best. I would be concerned about transmitting higher power levels over this cable, especially over longer distances. If you can accept the limitations above, this cable might be for you. As for me, I'll probably choose a different option in the future.
