I got rid of the old screen protector because it didn't protect against splashes. My stove was full of grease and my shirts were also stained. I saw it and it seemed to me that it could do a lot better and I was amazed that nothing came through but steam could still come out. I use this when cooking bacon and there have been no splatters on my stovetop or shirts. It can be washed in the dishwasher, but I just apply a little dish soap and then gently clean and dry it. Works every time. I have 2 pans that I use regularly, a 10" and a 12". Since my pans have a larger diameter at the top than at the bottom, the screen fits perfectly on a 10" pan, but on a 12" screen the feet keep it sliding and leave a small opening when I can't reach it. balance perfectly. Overall, for the price and still way better than the old screen style that was also starting to rust, I give it a thumbs up!
