I have a dead A1342 - Had to replace bloated battery, trackpad and fan. After everything worked again, after some struggle I was able to load High Sierra. But oh my god with only 2GB RAM it was SLLOOOOOWWWW. It's starting to hurt. I couldn't believe it, the Core 2 Duo might not be a Formula 1 car by today's standards, but it's still not a Pinto! Anyway, I've used A-Tech RAM on a few PC builds/upgrades/repairs so thought I'd give it a try. I ordered 2 of these to bump my MacBook up to 4GB of RAM (presumably the A1342 can go up to 8 but I don't need it). It changed the world. Now the car moves at an acceptable speed. Use this when you need a CHEAP (not CHEAP) way to get extra performance from your aging MacBook.
