Review on πŸ”’ VULCAN Combo Strap Kit - 2 Inch - Classic Yellow - 3,300 lb Safe Working Load - Axle Tie Down by Scott Bradford

Revainrating 4 out of 5

One Star for Perfection

I used these straps to transport a 1955 Thunderbird on my auto transporter from Central Illinois to Green Bay, Wisconsin and they worked great. They are strong, well made and feature quality ratcheting mechanisms. I like the reinforced material where they wrap around the car's axles and the hooks have locking clips so even if the strap does come loose it won't come off the D-rings. The only thing that bothers me, as do other reviewers who state that their weak point is the hooks, which appear to have been heated and then rotated 45 degrees to create a better angle to connect. I'm no engineer, but they would be a lot stronger if they were properly shaped instead of bent. I have little doubt that if one of them fails it will be a snag, otherwise it's 5*****.
