This is the best gate for the top of the stairs. I looked at dozens of options and finally settled on this one because it has some very important features for us. I highly recommend getting this one. - These passage gates open fully. You don't have to step over the rung at the top of the ladder to trip over it. Huge feature. And it's still a one-handed goal. They have a great doorstop feature that prevents them from moving in the opposite direction (stairs). He is absolutely reliable and strong. We have a £100 lab that cannot open it. It also works when unlocked (see photo). Very Reliable - The hook trap is fully latched. It is very durable and safe. Installation was easy and straightforward. Instead of the standard plastic anchors included in the kit, we used some of our own heavy-duty wall anchors. A very easy fix as we couldn't attach the rivets. The gate is actively used every day and has held up flawlessly for 3 months. I haven't had to tighten or adjust anything since installation.
