Review on πŸš— Xprite Steel Front Foot Pegs for 2007-2018 Jeep Wrangler JK 2DR JKU 4DR - 1 Pair by Jhon Clark

Revainrating 3 out of 5

But it could be great.

Note: I installed this on a 2017 Jeep Sahara Wrangler 4-Door. This is one of those products that could be great with two small tweaks. First, the design of these footpegs was fantastic. A very strong and powerful coating has been perfectly applied. When you hold it in your hand, you simply feel this quality. However, there are two issues (IMHO) that can easily be fixed, making this a 5 star product and probably one of the best out there. Washing machine. The manufacturer does not include the washer. Instead, you have a locking nut underneath that makes direct contact with the Jeep's door hinge. This nut must be tightened very tightly. In the process, I chipped the paint on each door hinge. For another 10 cents they could add two washers (each) to protect both the top and bottom of the hinge. It's also worth noting that no matter how tight I tightened the pin, it still moved when I used it (most of the time). That brings me to the next point. reverse limiter. There is what I call a rubber coated backstop. It is designed to make contact with the side of the jeep next to the hinge to prevent the pin from being pushed and making contact with the jeep. It just isn't long enough for a 2017 Wrangler and slips between the pivot and the panel. If they made it a little longer it would work fine. In the end, after my paint chipped and I couldn't stop the pens from moving, I decided that even at this price point ($16.99 for a pair), the pens weren't worth it. Maybe I wanted to solve a problem that doesn't actually exist.

Pros
  • Nice
Cons
  • Mostly Good, But...
