First impression: I almost sent it back 2 hours after unpacking it. The plug does not fold, so it is not suitable for traveling. The Eton Smart app just doesn't work. Connecting a device is easy up to the point of trying to add a device. At this point, the device has already been detected and successfully added to the WiFi via iOS Settings -> WiFi. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh rotates hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh the cursor keeps spinning. Resetting the device did not change anything. Turning your iOS iPhone (or iPad) off and on again and trying again didn't change anything. Moving to a different outlet in a different room made no difference. For what it's worth, I used an iPhone X running iOS 13.4.1 and my Wi-Fi network is an Eero system. When I was about to get the box to pack it up and start the return process, it occurred to me to try the Apple Home app anyway with the setup code provided. The home app worked, of course. This way I have access to the features provided in Home. However, this means that I have no current or upcoming software/firmware updates available. And if I have problems in the future when I'm asked to use the app to connect or troubleshoot, I'm hopeless. I've tried calling Eton but phone support is (understandably) unavailable during the current crisis. I will email you this review.
