I'm an amateur when it comes to understanding auto mechanics. After extensive research, I bought this OBDII scanner because my car's check engine light came on. So it's always good to know what's wrong with the car and what parts are needed. Auto parts can be expensive at brick-and-mortar stores, but if you have time to search online you'll always find a better deal elsewhere than at Autozone or Advanced Auto Parts. Thanks to the scanner, I was able to pinpoint the real problem, which by the way was pretty easy for a beginner. There are many other options on the market with advanced features like ABS, SRS, and torque, but I needed something basic. Models with more advanced options can be a bit pricey, but a basic one like the OxGord should do the trick for the average person. So far I'm happy with my purchase.
