Review on Hot Rims Wheel Polisher by Meguiar's G4400 by Jason Wesley

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Easy to use, great for car detailing

I like this Hot Rims rim polisher a lot more than the competitor's red tool. Two main reasons I like it so much: 1) Integrated shaft sleeve. This is a plastic sleeve on a rotating inner shaft driven by a drill. This gives you good control over where you want to maneuver the polishing head. 2) The "working end" of the polishing head is rather narrow or small. It handles tight corners and turns well on wheels. I use a polishing machine mostly on wheels. I don't polish very hard either, just mostly a slightly abrasive "cleaning wax" and sometimes normal rim wax. I've used it a few times and experienced no cuts, tears, etc. I could see how it can be damaged by aggressive polishing on rusty metal, but that's not really the intended purpose. I always try to keep the wheels clean and don't let them get to the point where they need a "heavy duty" polish. It makes an excellent light weight cleaner/polisher and wax applicator and applies a very even coat.

Pros
  • Strong, durable rim polisher gives rims that look like new a lustrous mirror finish
Cons
  • There are imperfections
