Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Fixed Lens - Discontinued by Manufacturer by Hasam Mondol ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Do not hesitate to buy, the quality is amazing for the price.

I bought it quite recently, and I haven’t really had time to test it yet, I only took about 500 photos on it; and I want to write about it. I am not a professional, and L-ka with 1.2 is not for me yet, this is my first DSLR and the first additional lens, for me it is just perfect, the photos are amazing. The colors are completely different from the whale (I'm shooting on 1100D), I put the whale one on the shelf for now. I bought a UV filter, the cheapest, more to protect the glass (sometimes it catches "hares", of course), a polarizer and a hood for it, and I'm happy as an elephant. Of course it is plastic, flimsy, but light. There will be extra money, I’ll think about 50 mm 1.4, that one is stronger and better of course. I didn’t expect such quality of photos at all, now I think I took a camera with a whale in vain, I had to have a bodysuit and 50 1.8. For a non-professional, to enter the world of mirror photography, this is an ideal option. At the same time, you will understand whether you need a fix at all. For beginners who love SLR photography, this is an ideal option, take it without hesitation. Just look at how many reviews about it, this is one of the most popular lenses. After running the lens on vacation, I think to supplement the review with new ones, and I hope with positive comments. Happy photos! Z. Y. Having photographed, I want to add: of course, the lens lacks a wide angle, we run and “zoom” with our legs; the front lens does not rotate, I bought a polarizer and here they are - green leaves; NOT chromate like 1.4, tested empirically on 5D Mark II; often misses, of course, you set the focus to a given point and that's it, the problem is solved; generally a bad focus ring, not informative in any way. Z. Y. S. I understood one thing with him, fixes are excellent lenses, after the 1.4 / 1.8 test, there is no longer a desire to take 1.4, but there is a desire to take 85 / 1.8. Do not hesitate, fixes are better than zooms, only one minus, you need to change .

Pros
  • - PRICE (although I bought this device for as much as 4500, you can find it cheaper); - aperture ratio (see also drawback); - on the crop, a good "portrait" turned out (not without flaws, of course); - EF mount (if I suddenly buy FF, it will go there as well); - due to the design, it is very light (see disadvantage); - compared to kit 18-55, the colors are simply gorgeous; - look cool on the camera;
Cons
  • - completely plastic, and the mount itself (see advantages); - after all, at 1.8 it lathers a little (on 2.8 the picture is already clear); - in the conditions of an apartment (namely an apartment, not a huge country house), such a focal length on the crop is of course large, not everything fits in the photo (on the street it’s just perfect, a small zoom with your feet); - as already mentioned, it misses the focus (well, it happens, and what can you do now, you saw the price, it's not fatal)
