The only reason I give this 2 stars instead of 1 is that it does what it's supposed to do when it works. Months and now the lithium battery only lasts a few hours and doesn't hold a charge - too bad when you're out in the woods and want to know where your dog is! The resistive touchscreen leads to my second complaint about the Garmin Alpha 100. In particular, anything that touches the screen - something in your backpack or pocket, your jacket sleeve, a branch or trigger, etc. - can throw the Garmin into a different mode. or any other screen that requires you to return to the desired screen. Pain, especially when you expect the device to be in the mode it should be. the need for human engineering. Advantage: Fast collar detection with GPS compared to the old Astro 320.
