Review on πŸŽ₯ Acer QHD Webcam: Crystal Clear Video with Omnidirectional Noise-Reducing Microphone by Quinton King

Revainrating 2 out of 5

There's a lot to like here. There is only one brand.

I've used several different cameras, from well-known brands to unnamed (mainland) Chinese manufacturers. This brand was suggested to me by Acer and I decided to try the camera based on the brand name (Acer is the brand name I previously bought) and the specs of the camera.1. What's in the box?: I received a camera, which I'm looking at carefully (there's a lens cap in it!), plus instructions.2. Melody? A: The camera is strictly plug and play, which means exactly that. There is no driver (and I have confirmed this by looking at the Acer website). The camera is recognized by whatever program you use and it is what it is. This camera offers an interesting yet secure way of mounting on a monitor with a foldable (flexible) part that can be bent into any desired shape and position for the monitor. It seems a bit useless at first, but once you've installed it, it actually sits in place pretty well. I would also like to mention that the camera has a fairly long cable (USB) which is not detachable but is over 6ft long which is amazing!3. Usage?: The generated image is pretty good. In fact, this might be one of the best I've seen without needing a lot of extra lighting, which is to be expected considering it's a 2k camera. The microphone's audio is adequate but not great, although it works well for most purposes. The clean-cropped image is a little wide-angled, so you know, and there's no way to change that (although you'll soon be able to change the image with software, so it's not a big deal these days). I LOVE the lens cap. I think that's what every camera needs considering the security issues we have these days. While something permanently attached would be better, this works really well (it absolutely does). I also appreciate that this product appears to be made in Taiwan and not mainland China, as I am concerned about the minimal risk of installing firmware. The price of the camera is what I would expect from this type of product (not the cheapest but given the production it might be worth it). Overall?: This is a really good camera. The price means that it depends more on the place of production, the brand as well as the quality of the production. I also like the sleek look of the camera, which is important since you're viewing it from above the monitor. Really cool. I'm rating it almost perfect at the moment with almost 5 stars.
