Review on πŸ’† Heimish All Clean Balm 120ml: The Ultimate Facial Cleanser for Effortless Makeup Removal by Christopher Foreman

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Great alkaline cleansing balm

EDIT: After using this cleanser for a while, I noticed that I was getting small, regular breakouts all over my face, and I have lots of them clusters/large visible pores around my forehead. I tried to find alternative causes (diet, supplements, stress, etc.) and made a list of skin care routines to see if anything was irritating my skin. Strangely, as soon as I stopped using this cleaner, the problems gradually disappeared. Since my skin is not very reactive, I was very surprised. I studied the ingredients and the first ingredient, ethylhexyl palmitate (a palm oil derivative) is very comedogenic. Maybe that's why my skin couldn't handle it. Because of this, I removed the extra star from my original review. Obviously, this ingredient isn't an issue for everyone, but it should be considered before purchasing a cleaner. ---------------------- - I loved this cleanser - it emulsifies well, the packaging was hygienic (which I appreciate) and it cleans light makeup /LSF good. Filming something more wasn't easy, however. I felt like I should have used an additional separate cleanser after the balm to ensure I was properly cleansing my face. I don't wear heavy makeup on a regular basis, but still found it a bit pointless to have a cleanser (even a first step in a double cleanse) that couldn't brighten something stronger than SPF. . I've tried working with it (leave to dissolve makeup, pre-apply makeup remover, rub gently) and it still took more than one round to get it all off. All that extra cleaning meant I ran out of product pretty quickly (while still relying on additional supplements). I also confess that I didn't like the smell of this cleaner. Reading the reviews I knew it was going to be slightly herbal (and that's okay, I like botanical beauty lines like Aveda) but it's actually quite pronounced and I don't really like it. Considering all these factors, I would not buy it again. Don't get me wrong - it's a great gentle cleanser and on my days off I feel like it cleans my face well. I just think this balm is probably best for those who don't use makeup and love herbal scents.
