If you are looking for an affordable, dimmable, high intensity (15W!) LED lamp with direct connection or recessed mounting, you can't beat this set. These devices are approximately 3/4 inch thick and do not have a driver module. Plug it directly into the 120v Romex power supply in the junction box as you would any old style light fixture (it also comes with A19 bulb socket adapters for recessed versions). I recommend these for applications that don't require aesthetics such as closets, garages and basements. Why?You get a high intensity blinding light transmission straight through the diffuser. I've added a photo (taken through sunglasses as the light is so bright) to illustrate what you will see in terms of the light gradient. a photo of the disc itself, and also which clarifies the point.COMPARATION: In more traditional retrofit or other ultra-thin designs, LED chips are either arranged in a circle indicating the center of the light, or there is another e-cascade of Diffusers that spread the light so that the entire surface of the disc is evenly lit (less sharp to the eyes). so do you have light YUP! Easy to install? YUP! Slim profile? YUP! However, this is unacceptable for a formally occupied space such as a living room, family room or kitchen. Great price for a dimmable option. over 50% less than other options available at Revain or Big Box stores (unless your state has energy company rebates that lower the purchase price).
