High performance with true colors

I make classical guitar videos for my YouTube channel and use softboxes for distribution. Diffusion materials absorb a lot of photons, so a bright light source is needed. So I bought this set of four 45W Alzo compact fluorescent lamps. I installed the CFLs in a four-socket multi-colored studio light fixture from NEEWER. After a few minutes of warming up, these bulbs will glow like the afternoon sun! When used side-by-side with 45 CFLs from other manufacturers, they are noticeably brighter, even brighter than some of my 65 and 85 CFLs. They're rated at 5500K, and in fact a bare lamp has a temperature close to that of daylight, but tends to be cool. teal side. Nothing special, about 30 clicks of magenta in LR and everything is fine. The colors are rich and vibrant. They don't pair well with the warmer Kaezi and ProStudio CFLs. However, they pair well with 85-watt Alzo CFLs. I expected a 45 watt CFL to get very hot, but oddly it runs cooler than the small CFLs I use around the house. The larger size dissipates heat more efficiently than compact CFLs. After a full day of use, it cools down within 5 minutes and can be unscrewed and put away. The only snag is that the three-inch diameter base fits my Neewer light head snugly: the bases of the lights actually touch. Most CFLs in this class are narrower with little air space between them in this head. Overall these are great CFLs but they are a little expensive and bulky compared to similar CFLs I use.
