This is a good solution for all the little dirt that accumulates in the car. It's perfect for receipts, straw wraps, and a few napkins. However, it's about the size of an average drinking cup, so there's not much room inside. I knew that when I ordered it, so I got one for the back seat (for kids) and another for the front seat. I used to have a hanging garbage bag in my car, but then the kids give me their garbage. They now have their own trash can in the back. It's great when they can be self-sufficient! I also like that it fits in a cup holder or door so there isn't a strap hanging off the seat and possibly damaging the upholstery/leather. The only negative I can say about this trash can is that 1) it's quite small so it needs to be emptied frequently and it can't hold large pieces of trash like grocery bags or sheets of paper, 2) it rattles in the holder. I used Sugru to attach a silicone bumper to the bottom and it worked.
