Overall it works very well. My 3yr old daughter loves that she can turn the lights on and off on her own. I was initially concerned that the 12" length wouldn't be enough for her (she's smaller) but I measured it and seemed ok, turned out just fine too, works exactly as expected. I will say the lack of competition makes this extremely low cost item a bit pricey for what it is, but overall it's a worthwhile "investment" if you want to teach your kid some independence and responsibility.
