I had an old kitchen scale that came off when I tried to clean it. It has a full glass top that water cannot penetrate. You must set it up on level ground. Four feet is the only place I can see water intrusion. So it must be a DRY flat surface. It's a bit clunky and takes up a bit more space than the dial it replaces. Precision suitable for use in the kitchen. I've only tested it to a pound (tested to 0.5kg). Sometimes an imperial amount is shown for 0.1 oz. Strangely, the metric reading seemed a bit more accurate. Possibly due to the finer detail of the metric display (1g). Mine tended to be 1-2% heavier. Absolutely suitable for the kitchen. The large backlit display is easy to read. But there is no feedback when you set the tare function, so it may be a little off and pressing the tare button again has no response (my old button is blinking). Some display parameters (ml water, kg and ml milk) seem strange and not very meaningful to me. 1ml water = 1gml milk may be more beneficial as it absorbs the thicker liquid. But in the US, teaspoons, tablespoons, or cups are more useful than metric measurements. Seems easier to set up just imperial measures. I like that it charges via USB. No more searching for a strange battery type. For $11 (with coupon). This is the real deal!
