Yes. That was my first clue that something was wrong. You order a toner cartridge and expect the toner cartridge to be simply replaced, right? Not so with this one! You get what you pay for as they say. But I got a little more than I expected. When I opened the box I saw that it contained tweezers, an old broken wire cutter and instructions on how to remove the OEM chip from the old cartridge and install it on this cartridge. The instructions describe how to cut the chip out of the plastic that surrounds it and "mount" it onto the new cartridge. Now I'm an IT pro, so I was ready to play tag and give it a try. However, the instructions did NOT take into account the fact that HP appears to be re-gluing its OEM chips rather than just mounting them in a plastic case. So I did my best to cut the plastic and glue off the chip and put it in the new cartridge but the printer refuses to recognize it. Now I have no working toner cartridge, extra waiting for new toner to arrive, tweezers and a broken wire cutter. So what, I think, silver lining?
