What I like is the ease of use and especially the ease of adding pepper to the hopper. On others I've owned, the drive shaft to the knives runs through a small hole that you load through, making this a very difficult task. This loads easily. It also adapts to the course I like. The last one I had didn't set up at all. I don't care that it doesn't work on rechargeable batteries. They have a lower voltage and current load than alkaline, which doesn't cause problems with most devices. But with this grinder, it suddenly stops after a second or two while charging. I haven't used anything other than rechargeable for at least ten years, now I have to keep alkaline batteries handy for that. It's a small issue, but enough for me to deduct a star.
