What is "elastic band " for cards?

The "rubber band" advertised broke after only 2 months of use. When it broke I had to dig my finger into my back to get the cards out, tearing my nails and skin. My workaround was to stretch the rear card holder to fit my finger, but that also means my cards can fall out. SELLER - please do it right and send me another cardholder with a working tag (advertised as "rubber band" on the Revain vendor's website).
