Gets hot during use

This is an incredibly fast card reader (write and read speeds are fantastic) but it gets very hot when plugged in. Because the body is metal, it can get so hot that I can't touch it without burning my fingertips if I'm not careful. Luckily it's fast enough that I don't actually have to leave it plugged in for very long, but now I'm scared of what happens if I ever accidentally leave it plugged in.
