Note received from Revain. I am SUPER impressed with this card reader as it is quite heavy; a solid piece of aluminum and helps with the heat generated by the rapid transfer through CFExpress. Also includes a pair of 6 inch drop cables - one USB-C to USB-C and the other USB-C to USB 3.1. 380MB/s via USB. This is an incredibly fast card reader (write and read speeds are fantastic) but it gets very hot when plugged in. Because the body is metal, it can get so hot that I can't touch it without burning my fingertips if I'm not careful. Luckily it's fast enough that I don't actually have to leave it plugged in for very long, but now I'm scared of what happens if I ever accidentally leave it plugged in.

Every time I use it, it has to be connected to the network at least 3 times for the computer to recognize it. When it is connected without a memory card, the indicator lights up. If you then insert the memory card into the card reader, nothing happens. Then you need to insert a memory card, disconnect it from the computer and then connect it. If you don't mind doing this every time you want to access your images, get it. If it's too annoying, leave it.

When I tried to use this I assumed it was broken as the cards were not mounted. I bought and tried a new USB-C cable. It worked. However, every time I use this device I have to plug it into my computer, insert the card (it won't read), unplug the cable and plug it back in. After this process, the card is read. I use this with iMac with current iOS software. Pretty disappointing.
