Does not work with supplied cable. Even with a new cable, a workaround is required.

When I tried to use this I assumed it was broken as the cards were not mounted. I bought and tried a new USB-C cable. It worked. However, every time I use this device I have to plug it into my computer, insert the card (it won't read), unplug the cable and plug it back in. After this process, the card is read. I use this with iMac with current iOS software. Pretty disappointing.
