Review on Measured Rubber Volkswagen Tiguan 2009 2017 by Brian Sage

After looking at many trunk mats and not wanting to pay too much for the "name" I decided to take a chance and buy this aftermarket mat for VW Tiguan 2009-2017. I wanted something made out of durable rubber, similar to all-weather floor mats, that I could potentially get very dirty and then take off and hose off with little effort. The standard mat is too fibrous and definitely holds dirt and moisture, so I need an all-weather option. First let me say that I am giving this item 4 stars out of 5 solely because of the packaging. The rug arrived rolled up and in a taped paper sleeve rather than a long box which would have been much better. As you can see from my photos, the "instructions" that came with it are just a few rough pictures showing that it comes in a box (which it didn't in my case) and that you should remove it. , unfold the mat and place books on the four corners to weigh down the mat and return it to its flat/intended shape. The last image on the sheet is of an American flag, proving it was made in America (sarcasm in case you hadn't noticed). I was concerned about uneven waves and warping on parts of the mat's ribbed edges due to their twisting as seen in my photos. However, I put it in the car and weighted the corners for about 20 hours. After removing the load I can say that the carpet straightened and stayed flat. I can also say that this is a finely crafted rug that fills the room completely as can be seen in my latest photos. I dumped some water on the mat to see how it behaves; the water beaded and didn't seep in, proving it was moisture impervious as I had hoped and expected. The mat has a light texture but is fine enough to rub and clean easily and is unlikely to hold dirt, which I think is a PLUS too. In short, although the packaging was not particularly impressive, I am very happy with this rug as it fits the design perfectly, is easy to clean/remove/install and is half the price of big brand products. If the mat was in the box I would give it 5 stars.
