Review on Dreametech D9 Robot Vacuum and Mop Cleaner: Powerful 2-in-1 with Smart Lidar Navigation, 3000Pa Suction, and Alexa Compatibility by Emily Armstrong

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Conclusion: Excellent hardware and good software

Update from May 5, 2021: Latest firmware now supports multi-level cards! At the moment the firmware is stable and reliable. The robot is a great budget alternative to Roborock. Highly recommended. Update December 29, 2020: A new firmware was released over a week ago. I tested it and I'm happy to report that it fixed the display issues described below. It also doesn't bump into things as much now. Well, this is a very good robot vacuum cleaner. I'm updating my rating from three to four stars. I will change it to five stars when a working layered card firmware is released. This vacuum cleaner could be a five star product if the software is updated. I will update the review if/when that happens but not a single firmware update has been released for the vacuum since I got it two weeks ago. If updates don't come out soon I'll probably be returning it. Pros: - Fantastic battery life. - Rarely gets stuck. - The suction power is really good. - Perfect cleaning, including the perimeter of the room. map in memory. Very quiet operation with two suction modes. Significantly cheaper than other vacuum cleaners with similar equipment. Cons (probably all can be fixed with firmware and/or app updates): The vacuum needs to start a cleaning cycle. from the base, or the vacuum cleaner gets confused, maps a "ghost floor" and starts cleaning, often in very strange and inefficient ways. See attached photo. The only way to fix this is to reset the map and redraw all evasive maneuvers and other map settings (which I've had to do many, many times in the short time I've had). This is a serious software bug that should be fixed soon. - Maps cannot be saved, only the current one is saved. Cards often become damaged and must be discarded. Very annoying. He really needs the ability to save cards, especially given the issue above! - Doesn't have multi-story abilities like the description says. Must be resolved soon. - Even though he has lidar, he bumps into things more often than Roborock seems to. - Scheduled cleaning cannot be performed for certain rooms - all or nothing.
