Over the years, Optimum Nutrition has released several different pre-workout programs in the Advanced category. I really liked their Pro Pre because it contained a lot of ingredients and adaptogens (Ashwagandha, Rhodiola, etc.). One of the perks of ON is that they make their own products so you know you're getting quality. When I tried this new Advanced Pre I was pleasantly surprised by the simple and clean formula. It's getting harder and harder to find a pre with creatine which confuses me because creatine and caffeine are the only 2 ingredients that are truly PROVEN to improve performance. If you're not taking it before your workout, you'll need to take it either after your workout or at some other time that leads to an additional step or product. So on to the product itself. It has everything you need to get a great workout and profit. I applaud ON for removing acesulfame potassium which is basically a poison. I want them to remove the color. I also wish there were more "focus" ingredients besides caffeine (namely L-Tyrosine, but coffee fruit, Alpha GPC, etc. would be good additions). I also find that the price per serving is VERY high (compared to Pre-Jym or Pre-Kaged). Natural caffeine is very mild and stable, and citrulline induces heavy blood flow and pumps. Beta Alanine is clinically dosed and effective. Creatine nitrate is a great supplement to complement everything else. So the pre-workout itself is 5/5. If they remove the coloring, add 5 more servings OR add some focusing ingredients AND add astragin, I'll bump this up to 5 stars slightly. I will continue to use it as it is becoming increasingly difficult to find a creatine pre-workout supplement that is Ace K free and made by a trusted company.
